There thing to think about when it comes to your yard is neat and curb appeal. This will apply to your homes exterior as well, but we talk about that under the home exterior page. Below is a list of things to consider regarding your yard when preparing to sell your home.
- Keep hedges and shrubs trimmed back from windows and walkways
- Weed flower beds to keep them looking neat
- Keep lawn freshly mowed and edged
- Put down fresh mulch in beds
- Add pops of color to yard with flowers in beds or in a few planters placed around the entrance
- In the fall make sure to keep leaved raked and gutters clean
- During cold months, keep beds cleared of dead plants and flowers so its fresh for new plantings in the spring
- Make sure that your homes address is clear and easy to read – either on your mailbox or on the house itself
- If possible, have pool opened during home sale – closed or winterized pools in the summer may be considered in disrepair
- If yard is fenced, repair as needed and a fresh coat of stain, paint or just pressure washing it can make it look new again
