
Kitchen:
- Wipe down counters
- Keep appliance clean of grease, dirt and food particles
- Sweep and mop floors
- If appliances will convey with the sale, make sure to clean up any spills inside refrigerator and toss our any possibly smelly items
Dining & Living Room:
- Wipe down table and chairs
- Sweep and vacuum or mop floors – especially important if you have pets that shed
- put away blankets from couches or at least fold and arrange any pillows neatly
- Dust other furniture as needed
Bedrooms:
- Make your beds, it makes a huge difference
- Again, vacuum, sweep and or mop floors.
- Keep clothes put away in closets and drawers
- Dust furniture as needed
Bathrooms:
- Wipe down counters and place personal items in drawers or in under counter organizers
- Clean toilets, inside and the outside
- Sweep and mop floors
- Scrub bathtubs and showers, even re-caulk areas if needed

Other cleaning tips:
- Avoid placing strong smelling air fresheners around house, it arouses suspicion as to what smells you may be trying to hide.
- Consider renting a carpot steam cleaner to clean stubborn stains and reduce odors
- Use a dehumidifier in basements to reduce the moisture in the air that can cause musty smells
- Take a magic eraser to scuffs on the walls, or touch up the paint if needed.
- Don’t forget your window and the glass screen doors. Especially if your house is like mine, with doggy nose marks and licks!
- Clean light fixtures and make sure all lights have working bulbs in them
